Studying in New Zealand as visitor:-
You are not required for a student visa for one or more courses covering up to a total of three months, according to the New Zealand Qualification Authority. If you are going for a short terms course spanning up to three months, you need to apply for a visitor visa. If your courses take more than 3 months, then you can apply for student visa.

Studying in New Zealand:-
If you are not a citizen of New Zealand and planning for pursuing your full time masters in New Zealand, taking more than three months, then you will need a student visa. However, your partner, parent, children are not eligible to accompany you on this visa. They need to apply separately for the type of visa they require.

Requirements of application:-
Please note it carefully that for the purpose of applying for a student visa for New Zealand, you need to have an unconditional offer of a place from a legally registered university, college or institute, accepted that place in writing and paid the required tuition fee deposit. This application from institute must have description of your course, its time etc. The application must confirm your enrollment.

Valid Passport:-
If your application is legally approved by government authority, your passport must be valid for 3 months after your planned date of departure from the country.

Age limit:-
Legally, there is no age limits on a student visa in New Zealand. However, if you have working holiday visa and you think it will allow you to study in New Zealand, you are wrong. It is completely different from student visa. You need to get a student visa.

Doing job on student visa:-
Once you are in New Zealand if needed arises, you can apply for a Variation of Conditions to your student permit. It will allow you to work up to 20 hours a week in the academic year and in the holidays.

  • A valid passport
  • Application fee
  • Two recent passport-sized photos
  • An unconditional offer of a place at an education provider in New Zealand
  • Receipt showing payment of one year’s tuition fees
  • Guarantee of accommodation
  • Evidence of sufficient funds for maintenance, via bank statement, or the Financial Undertaking form (1014)
  • Evidence of sufficient funds to purchase an outward ticket etc.
